Purpose

The American Dream of homeownership is at risk of missing entire generations. The Moonshot Home™ Event is an objective and radical approach to reimagine “the Dream” and make it attainable in both cities and rural communities.

Central to the day’s discussions will be the challenge:

“What is The Moonshot Home by 2035?”

What features, benefits, challenges, and opportunities will define it—and what will make it radically different from today’s homes?

The Moonshot Home™ Promise

Within the next decade, America will ensure that every family—whether in a city, suburb, or rural community—has the opportunity to live in a home that is smarter, healthier, safer, more resilient, and more affordable than any generation before.

We will:

Cut the total monthly cost of living by at least 25% through innovation in housing, energy, finance, and community systems.
Deliver attainable homeownership at scale so the American Dream is no longer out of reach for middle- and working-class families.
Rebuild trust in homeownership by making homes not only more affordable, but also more sustainable, disaster-resilient, and future-ready.
Leverage AI and advanced manufacturing to design, build, and deliver homes faster, smarter, and with precision never before possible.
Prove to the world—just as the Moonshot did—that America can lead with vision, courage, and innovation to solve its most urgent challenges.

The Moonshot Home™ will redefine the American Dream of homeownership—making it attainable, sustainable, and within reach for millions by 2035.

About the Initiative

The Show Homes of Texas is the first phase of the Waller County Housing Initiative (WCHI), a TEES–Quantum America partnership. Located on a 10-acre site in Waller County, it will feature five precision-built homes and a Visitor’s Center designed to quantify and qualify innovations. Research will extend through February 2029, with focus areas including:

Rural housing solutions
Community energy and water systems
Broadband, telehealth, and mobility integration
AI applications for smart, resilient communities
Financial and regulatory reforms to lower the total cost of living

In parallel, Quantum America is establishing the 60,000 sq. ft. Q LABS Innovation Center in Austin, a TEES satellite facility for R&D, prototyping, and commercialization.
